We are so appreciative of the wonderful building experience Jon and Karin provided us. We waited five years to build our dream home, and after owning 15 houses, building was a new experience for us. We never felt like a customer to them, but a couple who were fulfilling their dream. Prior to contacting Jon and Karin, we contacted some of the people whose houses they have built. All of them were very pleased with the building process, the final outcome and the support given after the house had been completed. When we first contacted Jon at Masters Properties, we had just moved to North Carolina from California. We needed a reliable contractor who could remodel our home to meet our specific needs on a tight schedule while we lived in the house. Jon and his subcontractors were ready willing and able to take on our project. Since time was of the essence, Jon prepared an aggressive schedule that started September 1st and had our house ready for the furniture delivery on December 12th. Each week a different team of subcontractors attacked a different part of the project. While we cannot recommend living in a house while it is under construction, Jon's team made every effort to keep us comfortable and functioning. We LOVE our home that Masters Properties built for us in Pinewild Country Club of Pinehurst. When we were interviewing builders, Jon was eager to show us many of the homes he was building in different stages of the process. 2016 has been quite a ride...from selling the business and our home in Illinois to moving to NC and watching our new dream house go up before our eyes. We are surprised and delighted again by how gracious God is to us for the providential connection to you as our builder. We never imagined we would live in such a gorgeous house. At our age, this is our LAST single-family house but it's our FIRST custom home (and we mean custom)! These things are all FIRSTs for us: Golf course views (only two neighbors) Incredible trim work (talk about a wow factor) Custom built-ins and closets (they are awesome) Wood floors throughout (wanted for years) Soft close drawers and toilet lids! (sometimes I open/close just to watch them work) Low-e windows (old icky windows were my biggest gripe on our last house) Window seat (will get a thick cushion and read a book or take a nape there some day) Chandelier with crystals (three to be exact, David refers to them as "foo-foo") LED lights (appreciate the no heat and energy efficiency) Soffit lights (exterior wow - even Paul, the mailman, commented on them) Coffered and tray ceilings (9-10-11' not 8' makes it so grand) Paneled kitchen backsplash (must have after seeing on Houzz) Range hood (and a remote to boot) Granite countertops (magnificent works of art) Granite composite kitchen sink (no spots) White under-mount sinks (very striking against the granite) Cooktop and separate wall oven (I will need cooking lessons to do them justice) Fancy schmancy refrigerator (David's pride and joy) Remote control ceiling fans (very convenient) Mud room (expect it will be one of the most used/appreciated rooms in the house) Oil-rubbed bronze hardware (love the contrast with the white doors and cabinets) Furniture-style vanity in powder room (a little more "foo foo") Door-less shower (who wouldn't love not having to clean a shower door?) When we walked into your home we not only saw the quality that we were hoping for in a new home, but also found you to be personable and transparent which put us at ease. Thanks for giving us leeway to ask a lot of questions and to accommodate our many preferences. Thank you for conscientiously estimating costs. Thank you for your integrity - how reassuring it was that we didn't have to constantly be on guard. We knew you were looking out for us. It's been a joy and a job to think through modifications to the stock plan plus all the many details that make the house sing. I think it's singing "Praise God from whom all blessings flow!" Our Donald Gardner house plan is named "The Godfrey." I looked it up and it means "God's peace" which is what we hope everyone senses when they time in our lovely home.
